Term 3, Week 1... Hauora / Well-being

The school-wide theme this term is Haoura or well-being and in the library we are kicking off the term with a selection of cool books which reflect this theme.

For you older students, we are introducing a great series of books called The Really Useful Handbook.

The titles include:

Beat Stress! The Exam Handbook

Too Fat?  Too Thin?  The Healthy Eating Handbook

How to Cope.  The Life Changes Handbook

We also have a selection of cool books by Tony Hawk which will get you away from the X-box and out on your skateboard - including this one called Impulse, about Dylan Crow, who is a skater from New York who has been getting himself caught up with the wrong crowd...

And for the younger students, we have a great series of books called Good Food, all about encouraging healthy eating.

We also have some picture books which make you think about yourself and how it really is fab to be you.

One of my favourites is The Queen with the Wobbly Bottom.

The Queen doesn't like her wobbly bottom one little bit and she does everything in her power to get rid of the wobble.  It's not until a wise poet arrives and writes an ode to the Queen that something inside Her Majesty finally begins to shift... and it's not the jelly wobble!
