Goblins by Philip Reeve (general fiction)

ISBN: 9781407115276

An outcast goblin called Skarper...
A princess called Ned....
A self-proclaimed hero called Henwyn...
A tea-loving giant named Fraddon...

These are just a few of the quirky characters in this laugh-out-loud tale of quest and adventure.

It all starts when upstart goblin Skarper is bratapaulted from the top of his (very) tall home tower, by his own kind.
His crime...?  Learning too much from the bumwipe (yes, you read it right!) heap.

This is a fabulous read.  If you like Colin Thompson's The Dragons and The Flood series, then you will be sure to like this!

And if you like this and you haven't read Colin Thompson's The Dragons and The Floods series... then make them your next read.

Speaking of which and while I have your undivided attention...

I have just finished reading Disasterchef (The Floods 11) which had me snickering to myself and annoying the family!

Betty Flood is a terrible cook.  Some of her recipes include:

Otter and Postman's Toenail Pie
Frog Spawn Extraordinaire in a Smoked Goldfish Bladder
Dead Redback, Tarantula and Other Assorted Deadly Spiders Ice-Cream Rapide

However, Betty believes in herself and is intent on opening a restaurant (aptly named The Devil's Kitchen) and will stop at nothing to get her way.
