Week 8 – Digging up the Past: Dinosaurs and More!

We decided that we needed to have a Dinosaur Week in the Library this term because we have so many dinosaur books coming into the Library.  Dinosaurs are just eternally popular!
These books below are just a selection of the dinosaur related books which will be on the prowl next week...

And speaking of extinct animals, we have this amazing sophisticated picture book to enjoy, all about animals who have lost their battle with evolution! There are animals in this book that I have never heard of... It is a gem!

But, although dinosaurs appeal to many children, they are not everyone’s cup of tea, so we decided to widen the focus and we also have some fabulous historical books which look at past events and create a story around them.

My two favourites have to be the Michael Morpurgo reprints, Outlaw (based on Robin Hood) and Sparrow (based on Joan of Arc.)  Michael Morpurgo has a magic pen and he manages to create wonderful stories with such apparent ease.

For the seniors there is this fascinating book of second world war stories...

There is this book about Julius Caesar, from the Before They Were Famous series...

There is even a couple of Geronimo Stiltons to enjoy, including this one, set in Scotland...

ENJOY!!!!
